Partnering to improve health outcomes for every child in the United States

The United States spends more on health care than other high income country. Yet, physical and mental health indicators for youth in the United States have long lagged behind other countries. The COVID-19 pandemic has worsened some outcomes, especially mental health. Marginalized youth including racial and ethnic minorities and those with lower socioeconomic status are more likely to experience worse outcomes.

The Pediatric Population Health Improvement Network (PHIN) is bringing together value-based health systems to address these issues and ensure every child in the United States reaches their full potential. Using the Learning Health Systems framework, we are collaborating on quality improvement efforts and research to transform the health care system to deliver optimal healthcare to all children and equitably improve outcomes.
